Photovoltaic Wooden Carport on Techno Metal Post Foundation

Techno Pieux Pyrénées-Ouest has partnered with the company Terre Solaire to build a carport in the town of Lanneplàa, situated in the Atlantic Pyrenees is South-Western France. The foundation for this project rests on six helical piles, 2 to 4 meters in length, to ensure the carport is properly anchored.

Project Objectives : To install a carport equipped with photovoltaic sun panels.

Soil Type: Three of the six piles are in backfill, which was there during the construction of the house.

Advantages Over Other Traditional Foundation Methods:

• Helical piles do not need any excavation
• Dry sector; no wait time for drying
• Fast installation; a half day to install 6 piles on site

Materials Used: Six P3-12

Equipment Used: EM1

Torque Power/Pile: between 2620 N.m and 5894 N.m, depending on pile loading

Depths of the Piles: 4 meters for the piles in backfill and 2 meters for the other piles.

Specific Details of the Structure on Piles: 41 m² open carport installed by Terre Solaire in two days.
